Andreas Metzmacher's research deals with the investigation of thin-film flow in an inclined rectangular channel. The μPIV method is used to quantify the speed of the film flow. Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and laser triangulation are used to measure the film thickness. Based on the experimental data simulation models are created in OpenFoam®.
